Ambystoma mexicanum & Sepiida

Concept:

Axolotls are one of the most amazing lifeforms on the planet. Not only are they pretty unique in looks, but also in abilities. An axolotl can regrow any damaged limb with no negative repercussions (no missing joints, no scar tissue, and damaged muscle). Amazingly, they can also regrow major organ like the heart and brain. Unfortunately, these amphibians are close to extinction in the wild because of pollution, consumption, and the threat of invasive species such as Tilapia and Carp. All of these are caused by human interference. To ensure this species survival, cuttlefish genes could be injected into axolotl DNA. Already, scientists have genetically modified an axolotl protein to create a glow-in-the-dark axolotl. Thanks to these new cuttlefish genetics, these salamanders would be able to regulate their body temperature in addition to having better camouflage to hide and hunt better.
